Description
Our school is seeking an experienced Science for our 6th to 8th grade students. Under the direction and supervision of the Principal or designee, the candidate will plan instruction, teach, differentiate instruction, motivate, inspire and assess students in 6th through 8th grade in Science. The candidate will promote a high quality education program that reflects the Florida State Content Standards for Science to include life science, earth & space science and physical science.

Requirements
[Qualifications & Requirements]
1. Bachelor's degree or higher and current FLDOE teacher certification.
2. Excellent oral and communication skills.
3. Flexible team player, able to relate effectively with diverse staff, students, parents and community within a rigorous PreK-8 academic environment.
[Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
1. Demonstrates a working knowledge of methods, materials and techniques used to teach mathematics content for grades 6-8 students, equitably.
2. Develops and presents lessons that demonstrate planning and preparation and are consistent with the pacing guide and the Florida Content Standards for Mathematics.
3. Uses a variety of instructional techniques and materials, which are appropriate to meet the needs of all students and understands the value of differentiating instruction.
4. Organizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged and learning.
5. Develops and implements Student Accommodation Plans, as needed.
6. Assesses students’ mathematical skills for the purposes of refining classroom activities and providing feedback to students, parents and administrations regarding students’ progress, expectations and goals.
7. Actively participates in professional development opportunities for the purposes of improving the quality of student outcomes and planning curriculum in mathematics and science.
